Bavarian Radio Broadcast

On 11 October 2016 Bavarian Radio broadcast a 23-minute programme in German about Elisabeth Charlotte, duchesse d’Orleans, better known as Liselotte of the Palatinate (1652-1722). She was Louis XIV’s sister-in-law and one of the greatest letter-writers in both French and German in the seventeenth century. Her letters give an unrivalled insight into life at the French court and into her own thoughts and emotions. The script is by Prisca Straub and the expert who is interviewed extensively in the programme is Helen Watanabe-O’Kelly.
